WATCH: The Union: The Business Behind Getting High (2007 Documentary)

The Union : The Business Behind Getting High

The Union : The Business Behind Getting High is a 2007 Canadian documentary film directed by Brett Harvey.

The film explores the growth, sale and trafficking of cannabis. The documentary examines the underground market by interviewing growers, police officers, criminologists, psychologists, economists, doctors, politicians and pop culture icons, revealing how the trade is booming despite being a criminal enterprise. The history of cannabis and the reasons for its present prohibition are discussed, often comparing it to the prohibition of alcohol in the United States in the 1920s, suggesting that gang drug warfare and other negative aspects associated with cannabis are a result of prohibition, not the drug itself.

The gangs that grow and traffic the drugs are likened to those that appeared in major US cities during Prohibition, with the intention of profiting from the sale of illegal alcohol. The film answers many questions about cannabis, including the purported health effects of cannabis use, the gateway drug theory, and what could happen if cannabis was legalized. The film also discusses the medicinal value of the cannabis plant and what the pharmaceutical industry stands to lose from cannabis legalization.

Watch: Hemp For Victory (1942 documentary)

Hemp For Victory

Hemp For Victory is a 1942 film documentary made to encourage farmers to grow hemp during World War 2 because other industrial fibers, often imported from overseas, were in short supply. The film shows a history of hemp and hemp products, how hemp is grown, and how hemp is processed into rope, cloth, cordage, and other products. I wrote a blog on Hemp and it’s many uses, which can be found here.

Before 1989, hemp for victory was relatively unknown. The United States government denied ever having made such a film. The United States Department of Agriculture library and the Library of Congress told all interested parties that no such movie was made by the USDA or any branch of the US government.

But this video shows the hypocrisy of the government.  They only encouraged growing Cannabis Hemp for their advantage. Here we have a very versatile plant with many uses and by the way, don’t confuse cannabis hemp with cannabis “marijuana”. Hemp has very little trace amounts of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which is the compound in cannabis which produces the psychoactive high.  So essentially you can’t get stoned from hemp. The government knows that, but yet here we are. over 50 years without being able to grow a plant that can change most economical problems. Where we could be able to produce for ourselves again. A plant that has over 50,000 uses, from paper to  biodegradable plastics. From bio fuel to clothes. The first American flag was sewn with HEMP.

Enjoy the film. Please share so that others can watch the governments hypocrisy. Feel free to leave any comments down below.

Watch: Anarchism in America 1983 documentary

Anarchism in America

This film was released in 1983, A colorful and provocative survey of anarchism in America, the film attempts to dispel popular misconceptions and trace the historical development of the movement.

The film explores the movement both as a native American philosophy stemming from 19th century American traditions of individualism, and as a foreign ideology brought to America by immigrants.

The film features rare archival footage and interviews with significant personalities in anarchist history including Murray Boochkin and Karl Hess, and also live performance footage of the Dead Kennedys.

Produced by pacific films

I rather enjoyed this documentary. Especially the clips of Emma Goldman and the interviews. It’s kind of sad that people still have that misconception of what Anarchism is, to this very day. As we continue to see shades of blue and red and bicker over which puppet is the best one to lead us all.

I am an Anarchist. As I wrote on this blog entitled, “What anarchy means to me”  . In  a nutshell, Anarchism is the essence of freedom growing within that we all encompass inside of us. I think there are many anarchist out there that just don’t have a clue that they are truly anarchist. All we need to do is pick up a book written by the anarchist of yesteryear, such as from Emma Goldman, Proudhon, Kropotkin, ETC. And realize that how we view this world and that burning desire for true freedom deep down inside us, resonates with their point of view. As I found out myself.

Well enjoy this well put documentary. Leave any comments down below. Please share if you enjoyed. Peace, love, freedom.

WATCH: Human Resources Social Engineering In The 20th Century (Documentary)

Human resources social engineering in the 20th century

Human Resources: Social Engineering in the 20th Century explores the rise of mechanistic philosophy and the exploitation of human beings under modern hierarchical systems. Topics covered include behaviorism, scientific management, work-place democracy, schooling, frustration-aggression hypothesis and human experimentation

“Essentially,” says Scott, “this film is about the rise of mechanistic philosphy and the exploitation of human beings under modern hierarhical systems.” The film includes original interviews with: “Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn, Rebecca Lemov (“World as Laboratory”), Christopher Simpson (“The Science of Coercion”), George Ritzer (“The McDonaldization of Society”), Morris Berman (“The Reenchantment of the World”), John Taylor Gatto (“Dumbing us Down”), Alfie Kohn (“What does it mean to be well educated?”) and others.”

I think this documentary is great so that others can see these perspectives and realize how we have been manipulated, conditioned and domesticated into this way of being. Really gives you an insight on how exploited and oppressed we truly are. Well enjoy this documentary. Leave any comments down below.

WATCH: Living Utopia (Anarchism in Spain Documentary)

Living utopia (Anarchism in Spain documentary)

A great documentary  about the Spanish revolution and anarchism in 1936. I just wonder what would have happen if it continued and fascism did not destroy that movement.  I truly believe this is something that we need. We can learn from them, we can take ideas from our past and evolve it for the present. Unity and solidarity with our brothers and sisters all over the world would be needed to stand together. To build a better world, a better tomorrow. Nothing is perfect. It won’t be this living utopia. But what we currently have now is far from perfect, we live in a system where a government of a select few oppress and exploit the many. Anarchism is freeing ourselves from those chains. To go beyond the mundane bullshit we have been living. I wrote a blog entitled what anarchy means to me, which can be found by clicking here.

There are many of us, many of us who are anarchist, but many don’t know it. Many people have this misconstrued definition of what an anarchist truly is as we often define it with what the media construes us to be. But many out there have this yearning for true freedom, this yearning to be free from the shackles and control of governments. What if instead of being born to an unjust system that like everything else, is indoctrinated into us. What if instead of conditioning ourselves into this competitive system with each other, this dog eat dog world. We condition our children to grow up to think freely. To develop their own way of thinking without the controls and indoctrination. Let them condition themselves and to learn how to treat others the way that they want to be treated. What if from the start they were conditioned to respect all living things. To be truly independent.  They have molded our minds to fit in the constraints of boxes. What if our minds were molded to not fit in the confines of a box, but to be free!

Enjoy the documentary. Please leave any comments down below on what you thought of the video. if we need something more than how we are living. PLease share. peace and love
