The Radically Wild Puerto Rico Tours Forest Therapy (Forest Bathing)

forest therapy

In Japan, forest therapy, or shinrin-yoku, is standard preventative medicine.  It’s not about being alone in the wilderness or extreme outdoor sports, it’s about allowing your body and psyche to hang out in the peace of the woods.

It consists of CONNECTING with nature and see it as I see it. Walking through a forest and unclogging your mind. Enjoying the view of the colors and shapes of the treetops. Listening to the wind in the foliage, the birdsong. Smelling the aromas, taking a leaf pine some aromatic plant and breathing their essences. Feeling the softness and texture of a tree trunk, or sliding your hand down the springy moss covered rock.

One of the consequences of neglecting Nature  today is how little  we appreciate the senses. We spend many hours watching , mobile, tablet, computer or television screens, are have  no time to attend with what is around us and connect with the surrounding world through the senses. Walking among the trees is an opportunity to stop that rhythm and spend some time to perceive the elements of the surrounding nature.

I always say we have lost connection to nature, and losing connection to nature we have lost connection with each other. So we go on living with artificial attachments, not realizing the beauty of life that is all around us and inside of us and that we are nature.

The benefits of Forest bathing are:

Japanese researchers studying “forest therapy,” have found measurable health benefits:

  • Lower cortisol
  • Lower blood pressure
  • Reduced stress
  • Lower blood sugar
  • Improved concentration
  • Diminished pain
  • Improved immunity
  • Less depression and hostility
  • Increased vitality
  • Better concentration
  • Increased creativity

The radically wild Puerto Rico Forest Therapy tour consist of visiting one of the many beautiful forest and rivers of Puerto Rico and even the beaches and getting lost in the forest and connecting again. Long walks through forest and rivers in a very slow pace taking in the beauty around us.  Enjoying the serenity and enjoying our peace of mind.

In forest therapy we find many occasions for visual enjoyment. The sight of the green lush environment under the spring light is a relief for the eyes. Changing the direction of our gaze upward, extended toward the blue sky and  green tops affords a sense of expansion. In the rich palette of greens, we distinguish the bright green of new banana leaves,  and other deciduous trees, an image that spread joy and vitality., A large pond or river surrounded by a wall of large trees, can rest your eyes in a living green horizon transmitting peace and joy as opposed to the not so exciting built horizon that often surround ourselves

The Puerto Rico Forest therapy tour will last around 3 hours.

I will guide you on various exercises such as breathing exercises and meditation, while we connect back again and get lost immensely in the experience.

I have an utmost connection and deep appreciation for nature. I now see things differently. Trees, rivers, oceans and sky, the moon, the sun and everything in between and the infinite.

I opened my eyes to the world and I want to share in that experience. To get lost in contemplation. To make you more aware that you are part of nature, connected through it to something much larger than yourself that transcends and will survive you.

For your soul to connect again.

No phones allowed and instead of turning on a phone we will turn on our minds and our consciousness and explore our world in depth and not only our worlds but the infinite realms of our mind.
