“If you imagine someone who is brave enough to withdraw all his projections, then you get an individual who is conscious of a pretty thick shadow. Such a man has saddled himself with new problems and conflicts. He has become a serious problem to himself, as he is now unable to say that they do this or that, they are wrong, and they must be fought against… Such a man knows that whatever is wrong in the world is in himself, and if he only learns to deal with his own shadow he has done something real for the world. He has succeeded in shouldering at least an infinitesimal part of the gigantic, unsolved social problems of our day.”
— Carl Jung, Psychology and Religion (1938)
enlightenment
Quote: Immanuel Kant On The Motto Of Enlightenment
“Enlightenment is man’s release from his self-incurred tutelage. Tutelage is man’s inability to make use of his understanding without direction from another. Self-incurred is this tutelage when its cause lies not in lack of reason but in lack of resolution and courage to use it without direction from another. Sapere aude! ‘Have courage to use your own reason!’- that is the motto of enlightenment.”
― Immanuel Kant
Quote: Ken Kesey On Enlightenment
“It isn’t by getting out of the world that we become enlightened, but by getting into the world…by getting so tuned in that we can ride the waves of our existence and never get tossed because we become the waves.”
― Ken Kesey
WATCH: Human Resources Social Engineering In The 20th Century (Documentary)
Human resources social engineering in the 20th century
Human Resources: Social Engineering in the 20th Century explores the rise of mechanistic philosophy and the exploitation of human beings under modern hierarchical systems. Topics covered include behaviorism, scientific management, work-place democracy, schooling, frustration-aggression hypothesis and human experimentation
“Essentially,” says Scott, “this film is about the rise of mechanistic philosphy and the exploitation of human beings under modern hierarhical systems.” The film includes original interviews with: “Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn, Rebecca Lemov (“World as Laboratory”), Christopher Simpson (“The Science of Coercion”), George Ritzer (“The McDonaldization of Society”), Morris Berman (“The Reenchantment of the World”), John Taylor Gatto (“Dumbing us Down”), Alfie Kohn (“What does it mean to be well educated?”) and others.”
I think this documentary is great so that others can see these perspectives and realize how we have been manipulated, conditioned and domesticated into this way of being. Really gives you an insight on how exploited and oppressed we truly are. Well enjoy this documentary. Leave any comments down below.
We are like bird shit!
We are like bird shit. Birds migrate from place to place freely. When they travel, they drop shit along the way. With that shit that is dropped, they leave behind a seed with the shit being the catalyst and the fertilizer for that seed to sprout all over the place, introducing trees and other plant life to different locations through the propagation of their seeds. It’s the cycle of life. Everything is connected.
We are like bird shit. We are just specks of dust, microscopic beings and the universe has randomly dropped us off, essentially shitting us out in different random places on this beautiful planet, so that we may take root on this earth and grow just like the trees that come from the shit of a bird. But we have sprouted as a petulant weed and our roots have yet to penetrate the earth, as the roots went wayward into the direction of money and materialistic bullshit. Money has become an incessant fertilizer that we have become dependent on. A synthetic fertilizer that poisons our roots right down to our very core. Our roots have turned into shackles that bind us, and in some aspects, our roots has turned into tentacles that have penetrated the earth, but not to connect, but to suck out it’s marrow and the marrow of life. We have forgotten the true foundation of our beings. We don’t give back to the earth, but seek to destroy it with our greed and ego. Our sun has become materialistic.
The trees remain stationary, but we are free to grow and expand and to keep evolving. But we too remain stationary, not only in the confines of these arbitrary borders, but in the confines of our own minds. We remain not only disconnected to the earth, we remain disconnected to each other. Instead of the roots branching out, our roots just continue to wrap around our necks and smothering us into our very own demise of our own making. The people have become robotic generic cookie cut clones branded by artificial logos chasing materialistic wishes. Individuality lost and their own minds never found. We have indeed become that petulant weed no longer sprouting from the earth but sprouting from concrete, forever entrenched in our own bullshit.
