The Insanity Of Mankind Illustrated By Steve Cutts

Here are illustrations by Steve Cutts that depict our modern world, the insanity of mankind. He nailed every depiction as I, and I would believe many others view this world. I often think about this all the time and most of us just go on not realizing this illusion we live in. This regurgitated endless cycle going no where, as we pass it on to the next generations.

We have been consumed by this artificial and materialistic world and have been consumed by conformity, as we have conformed and have become comfortably numb to a bullshit system that enslaves us all.

I wanted to go further and not just post his illustrations on it’s own, but to give my interpretation of each of his illustrations. My point of view and if you go to his site, he offers titles for each one. You can visit him at his website here

This image here is how we have recycled this world. Where we have exploited this planet for far too long under a bullshit capitalistic system. You can throw animals and even ourselves into that chipper since we and the animals are nothing but a commodity exploited just like the earth.  We continue to sell ourselves to the highest bidder. modern-world-caricature-illustrations-steve-cutts-2

Our world of consumerism. Continue to shit out that money for the products they shit out.  Another regurgitated cycle of endless consuming of material bullshit.modern-world-caricature-illustrations-steve-cutts-4

We have essentially become slaves to our own devices, to our own technology, but in this picture we have also become slaves to all the social media bullshit.  We have to go on updating our status, send out tweets, share the image of the plate of food we just ate and it goes on. Consuming all the precious time we no longer get to enjoy fully.

The rat race. Living in NYC most of my life I can relate to this image. We push and shove ourselves into the train cars like sardines into a can. Always in a rush, never communicating with anyone, just squished in a train, waiting for your stop so that you can get out just to transfer to another train, just to end up squished again. We would step over anyone just to get to where we need to go on time. Just madness how we go on living like this.modern-world-caricature-illustrations-steve-cutts-6

I always speak about this. Happiness, we are always chasing it. We think the more hard work we do, thus the more money we make and we just want more and more and we fall into this trap and never really finding happiness. We also continue to purchase more and more things for that perceived happiness as we grow tired of this and that and we just keep on going.modern-world-caricature-illustrations-steve-cutts-7

I really love this picture. I have not had a phone in over three years and now all my devoted time is spent looking at the world around me. One thing you tend to notice is that everyone is looking down on their phone. Going back to being slaves to social media, constantly looking at their accounts.  I always say people rather look at a picture of the sunset on their phones then to actually look at the sunset right on front of them. They rather send messages to their friends, then verbally communicating with them in person. We have become those zombies and the phone has become our “BRAINS”.modern-world-caricature-illustrations-steve-cutts-8

In this picture, I see corporate greed and again their constant exploitation at any given cost and it is all settled with a handshake. A handshake to pollute our water and air, a handshake to do whatever they want because money talks and governments are always in bed with all these corporations and just allows this world to go to shit.modern-world-caricature-illustrations-steve-cutts-9

This is how our world is fast becoming. Convenience. We want that convenience as we live life like the instant one minute button. As we are constantly feeding ourselves nothing but junk and doped up on meds.modern-world-caricature-illustrations-steve-cutts-10

Going back to Steve Cutts animated short entitled man which can be seen by clicking here. Man thinks the world revolves around them. They believe they are the dominant intelligent species as all the animals are seen as nothing more than for our own consumption.modern-world-caricature-illustrations-steve-cutts-11

This one made me laugh. Hey has a cool story for this one. The dreaded Monday. We have those 2 days of so called freedom. We wait all week for Friday and then comes that dreaded Monday we all hate. Time for work again and we go back to that cycle of waiting for Friday. I always ask myself, are we really put in this world to sell our time away. To go on doing something we hate. Why do we work so many hours and have so little time off. Our time should be enjoyed. We should look forward to everyday and everyday should be different, not mundane. modern-world-caricature-illustrations-steve-cutts-12

The same thing I wrote can also apply here. We are stuck in this mundane regurgitated rut doing things we hate. Things that redundant like office work, Like holding a sign on a street corner as we continue to tell ourselves that it is for our own survival. Why do we accept that kind of word that we need to do redundant work to survive. Most well say get a good education and you don’t have to worry. But life should not be based on that. We all know most people hate what they chose to study in the first place. We should be free to choose what we want to do with our time.modern-world-caricature-illustrations-steve-cutts-13

hard to interpret this one. But what I gathered was that this is our rat race. After work we just numb ourselves by being drunk. It’s has become our coping mechanism.modern-world-caricature-illustrations-steve-cutts-14

The rich get richer and the poor, well they gotta be the slaves to the rich and do what they can to get that paper. So we stay holding that proverbial pyramid with the goal of one day reaching the top of that pyramid. This can be applied to capitalism. We need to have those bottom dwellers holding the signs for our big business. We need to have those workers working retail while they sit high on their thrones.modern-world-caricature-illustrations-steve-cutts-15

Again, consumerism. Here we have all these foreign workers working in their slave jobs getting penny on the dollars, pushing out product after product for our happiness, I mean consumption. modern-world-caricature-illustrations-steve-cutts-16

Put simply there is nothing but bullshit on TV. From the media to the commercials we watch that sell us bullshit as they mold our frame of thinking.

Well hope you enjoy my interpretation on these illustrations. Please leave any comments down below.
